Predicated on conversations a few days ago, many folks were saying they did like the news because it was too violent and depressing. But as it turned out the news is just a by-product of our society. The bigger question is; when the madness stop?
Nonetheless, police record has shown since Friday May 31st, 2019 the following fatal shootings have occurred in Cincinnati neighborhoods: two in Bond Hill and one each in Evanston, East Price Hill, Mt. Airy, West End and Lower Price Hill.
On Friday, May 31st, 2019 police says; 25 year old David Lynn Jr., was shot and killed in a double shooting in Cincinnati’s Evanston neighborhood.
Around the same time as I was crossing, the intersection of North Bend Road and Colerain Avenue Police Officers were directing traffic around what appeared to be an accident. However, about the same time I received an Alert from WLWT5 News regarding a shooting at the same location.
According to Authorities Phoenix was shot and killed by a drive-by gunman who is believed to have been in a black, late-model Chevrolet last seen traveling down Colerain Avenue toward Virginia Avenue. Reportedly Brandon Phoenix was shot and killed at approximately 1:00 P.M. Accordingly, no arrests have been made.
Additionally, according to police report on Sunday June 2nd, 2019 32 year old Taher, was shot in the head in East Price Hill.
Also, authorities said on Wednesday June 5th, 2019 25 year old Gannon Hillman was shot and killed in Bond Hill. Sadly during the same day at a different location a spoke person for the Cincinnati Police Department reported 19 year old Brandon Phoenix was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting at a busy Mt. Airy intersection.
A day later, Thursday June 6th, 2019 37 year old Ricky Lackey was shot and killed in Bond Hill. Reportedly this is the second shooting in this neighborhood within two days. I am in complete agreement with the Rev. Mingo who said; “someone has to seen have something and they need come forward with this information for the police. He is pleading with folks to take back the streets of their communities.
On Friday, June 7th, 2019, 28 year old Paris Crosty was shot and killed in Cincinnati’s West End.
Sorrowfully on Sunday morning in Cincinnati’s Lower Price Hill neighborhood authorities have identified a man shot dead. It is believe to be the seventh homicide in the Cincinnati area in less than two weeks.
According to investigators; “Shawn Hope, 39, was gunned down around 2:45 A.M. Sunday in the 600 block of Neave Street. Thusly, investigators pronounced Hope dead at the scene.
Later Sunday afternoon, Cincinnati police announced the arrest of 23 year old Navonta Snow in connection to Hope’s death. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
Hope was the seventh person shot and killed in the city of Cincinnati in less than two weeks.
