Man Shot, Killed At Bus Stop Not The Intended Target

On Friday, June 21st, 2019 according to police report the man shot and killed at a Cincinnati bus stop on his way to work was not the intended target.

Subsequently, 19 years Brandon Phoenix was shot and killed in a broad daylight on June 5th, 2019 in the Cincinnati’s Mt. Airy neighborhood.

Reportedly he was sitting at a bus stop on Colerain Ave. just south of West North Bend Road when he was struck by a stray bullet and killed.

According to detectives Phoenix was not the intended target of the killing. He had no criminal record and worked at Cincinnati’s Children’s Hospital.

Authorities believes Phoenix was shot and killed by a drive-by gunman who is believed to have been in a black, late-model Chevrolet last seen traveling down Colerain Avenue toward Virginia Avenue.

Authorities have recovered surveillance video from the area. Detectives said they are attempting to interview several drivers in the area who may have witnessed the slaying.

Authorities has interviewed most of the drivers who were in the area at that time. However, in particular police believes there are three drivers who may hold or have key information to this incident.

According to Police report a 2017-2019 white Honda Civic five-door hatchback EX or EX-L was in the area at the time. It was last seen driving southbound on Colerain Ave. on June 5th, 2019 at approximately 1:22 P.M.

Similarly, the same, police believes that a 2001-2007 dark blue Dodge Grand Caravan along with a 1997-1999 green Oldsmobile Cutlass were seen in the area. Both were traveling northbound on Colerain Ave. at the same time.

Now, Brandon Phoenix was a good (KID) young man. Help him as police are searching for the drives or occupants of the above vehicles. Be attentive! And anyone with information are strongly urged to contact detectives at 513-352-3542.
