Disheartening! Disheartening! Yes, I am extremely disheartened. It is needless to ask; Why the senseless killings because every murder or killing is completely senseless.

Referencing a series of murders in the City, Cincinnati Police Chief Eliot K. Isaac in a commentary he had this to say, “This group has caused irreparable harm to our community and impacted several families forever through these horrific crimes. I am grateful for the tremendous investigative effort from our Homicide Unit and the collaboration with Prosecutor Deters to hold all of these individuals accountable.”

He continued to say, “I hope the citizens of Cincinnati recognize the Cincinnati Police Department’s efforts to help keep them safe and know that our streets are safer with these individuals in custody and under indictment.”

On Wednesday, April 7th, 2021 Hamilton County Prosecutor  Joseph T. Deters announced the Indictments of four adults, and charges for one juvenile in series or succession of connected murders in the City of Cincinnati.

Accordingly Carl Godfrey  whose date of birth is February 22nd, 2000 has been indicted for 4 counts of Aggravated Murder, 7 counts of Murder, 10 counts of Felonious Assault, 1 count of Aggravated Robbery, and 3 counts of Weapons Under Disability.

Just in case you did not know, Ohio Revised Code, Section 2923.13 (3) Having weapons while under disability is defined as; “The person is under indictment for or has been convicted of any felony offense involving the illegal possession, use, sale, administration, distribution, or trafficking in any drug of abuse or has been adjudicated a delinquent child for the commission of an offense that, if committed by an adult, would have been a felony offense involving the illegal possession, use, sale, administration, distribution, or trafficking in any drug of abuse.”

Also, Jason Gray whose date of birth is June 6th, 2002 has been indicted on 3 counts of Aggravated Murder, 5 counts of Murder, 8 counts of Felonious Assault, 1 count of Aggravated Robbery and 2 counts of Weapons Under Disability.

In addition Mario Gordon whose date of birth is September 5th 1990 has been indicted for 1 count Aggravated Murder, 2 counts of Murder, 6 counts of Felonious Assault, and 1 count of Weapons Under Disability.

Included the Indictments is Conn Inabnitt whose date of birth is August 13th, 1971 has been indicted on 1 count of Aggravated Murder, 2 counts of Murder, and 6 counts of Felonious Assault.

Furthermore, juvenile, M.T., whose date of birth is August 28th, 2006 has been charged with 1 count of Aggravated Murder, 6 counts of Murder, 3 counts of Attempted Murder, and 6 counts of Felonious Assault.

Reportedly, M.T.’s cases are currently in Juvenile Court, pending bind-over to adult court, and are set for pretrial on Tuesday April 20th, 2021 at 9:00 A. M. Accordingly, if these defendants are convicted on all charges, each defendant faces life in prison.

Subsequently, Godfrey was hired by an unindicted individual to murder Jeremiah Campbell. Thusly, on Sunday, January 31st, 2021, Godfrey and Gray arrived at a home in Avondale where the victim was staying. Godfrey and Gray shot the victim, which resulted in his death.

On February 1, 2021, M.T. set up to meet two individuals on Facebook. When M.T. arrived at the location in Fairmount, M.T. fired multiple shots into the victim’s vehicle, killing Terrance North, and wounding the other occupant.

Again, Godfrey was hired by an unindicted individual to murder a specified target. On Tuesday, February 16th, 2021, Godfrey sent Gray, Gordon, and M.T. to kill the intended target. The suspects were driven to the location of the homicide in Westwood by Conn Inabnitt. When the intended target arrived, he was in a vehicle with two other individuals, Deontray Otis a female individual. Gray, Gordon, and M.T. fired several shots into the vehicle. All three individuals in the car were struck. Deontray Otis died on scene. However, Otis was not the intended target. The other two individuals were injured awfully, but miraculously survived.

On Thursday, February 18th, 2021, in retaliation for another incident, Godfrey and M.T. armed themselves and entered Millvale. They encountered Donnell Steele. Donnell Steele was shot and killed. It is believed that Donnell Steele was not specifically targeted by the suspects.

Hamilton County Prosecutor Joseph T. Deters had this to say; “Countless hours of police work went into solving these cases, and we all should be thankful for the amazing police department we have here in Cincinnati. Cincinnati is safer today because of the hard work of the Cincinnati Homicide Unit.”

Deters continued to say; “The violence perpetrated by and on young men in our city is out of control. And we must get a handle on it quickly to stop the cycle of trauma and victimization. Our communities cannot thrive if there are people in them causing this kind of chaos. The callousness and disregard for the value of these victim’s lives is sad and, frankly, something that should concern all of us.”

Deters is asking for anyone with any information on these crimes or any other crimes you believe may be associated with these individuals to contact the Cincinnati Homicide Unit at 513-352-3542.”
