Reportedly, outside New Peppers at a nightclub on East Fifth Street moments after 1 A.M. on Sunday, August 4th, 2019 a man wearing body armor and carrying high-capacity magazines rifle fired dozens of rounds into the crowd.
The gunman that opened fire in Dayton’s Oregon District wounding 26, and killing (9) nine people.
Subsequently, less than a minute after the gunman began shooting, he was shot and killed first responders.
According to Dayton’s Mayor Nan Whaley; “I’m amazed at the quick response of Dayton police that literally saved hundreds of lives.”
Whaley continued to say; including bars, restaurants and theaters thousands of people were in the popular Oregon District, home to entertainment options.”
Whaley added, the gunman who has not been named, was carrying a 223 caliber high-capacity rifle magazine and had additional magazines on his person.
If this is the rifle, the 223 is a rifle was developed in 1957, for the ArmaLite AR-15. However, in 1964 the ArmaLite AR-15 was adopted by the United States Army as the M16 rifle, and later became the standard U.S. military equipment. A gun is a gun and was designed to do bodily harm. However the bigger question is why on God’s earth would anyone want something like this?
According to AP/USATODAY/Northeastern University mass murder database that tracks all U.S. homicides since 2006 involving four or more people killed said; The El Paso shooting was the 21st mass killing in the United States in 2019.
Needlessly, this Ohio shooting came just hours after a young man opened fire in a crowded El Paso, Texas, shopping area, leaving 20 dead and more than two dozen injured. Just days before, on July 28, a 19-year-old shot and killed three people, including two children, at the Gilroy Garlic Festival in Northern California. What are we doing to ourselves?
According to Police officer lieutenant colonel Matthew Carper; the incident could have been far worse. The incident ended quickly, because officers were already patrolling in the area when the gunshots started.”
Carper continued to say, “as bad as this is, it could have been much, much worse, as I think everyone will become aware of here as more information unfolds.”
Actually, Carper believed that the Oregon District is a relatively safe section of town. In lamentation Carper said; “This is extremely unusual, obviously for any community, let alone Dayton. In our Oregon District, this is unheard of.”
Reportedly as they were rushed out of bars in the downtown area witnesses described the scene extremely unbelievable and outrageously painful. One woman illustrated the moment she came out, she knew this scene was very different.
Nikita Pappillion added; “The screams, the cruisers, the chaos, I have never been pushed out of Newcomb’s but the security guards were running around telling people to get out.”
Pappillion continued to say; “Just how everybody was acting you knew something was wrong. When you came outside as soon as you get to front street you see the bodies and you knew that this was different, and you knew it was something that you never thought of experiencing never experienced, wouldn’t want anyone to experience.”
Reportedly, the FBI is assisting with the investigation. A family assistance center will be set up at the Dayton Convention Center. A dedicated phone line has been established for anyone with information about the incident or to get information. You are strongly urged to call this number 937-225-6217.
